As an artist, discovering something new is a growing difficulty. And sometimes you discover another artist who has discovered something that speaks to you so clearly and you wonder, “why didn’t I think of that?” Bryan Nash Gill, is an artist who creates beautiful relief prints from tree trunks. Reading the age lines on a tree can tell you just as much as reading old archived newspapers. They tell the struggle of the tree through years of growth and famine. I discovered this on The English Muffin Blog.

Your right, this is sweet! I love that he works where he grew up and works off of his surroundings. This whole idea of tree rings and all that it shows you about the experiences through the tree’s life …So rich in meaning. I would love to get one or be able to see one up close.
